The first camera obscurer was built in 1880, but sadly disappeared in the 1920's but todays one rebuilt in 1985 affords stunning views 1000 square miles of land and seascape with remarkable clarity. The 14 inch lens makes it one of the largest in the world. This is just one of the great attractions on Constitution Hill, why not take the Cliff Railway up to the Camera Obscurer?
