About This AttractionSuggest an Edit

Experience what it would have been like during a ‘blackout’ in wartime Britain and what it was like on the home front! These shelters opened in 1939 and were the largest purpose-built civilian air raid shelters in the country, designed to provide shelter for up to 6,500 people! You can grab an audio guide to hear the history or read stories from locals who have shared their wartime experiences.
