This magnificent castle is well worth the just over mile walk to get to, the castle hugs the land on a remote headland. The castle was built in 1313 when relations between King Edwards II and the Earl Thomas of Lancaster became hostile. The castle was of a grand scales and the whole family will love exploring the ruins and enjoying the stunning views, on a clear day you can see Bamburgh and Lindifarne castles.
