About This AttractionSuggest an Edit
This is a fascinating historical place to bring the family; the abbey was founded in 1178 by King William as a memorial to his childhood friend Thomas Becket and now is left in a ruined state. The visitor centre has lots of information about the history with a time-line display, models, artefacts and 3D film. The ruins themselves have plenty to climb around and a few partially restored interiors to be explored.
