Tips

The overall experience was ok but if you're not interested in monkeys then don't go! There aren't any lions, tigers etc. Best attraction are the elephants and gorillas. They've even replaced the giraffes with camels! After going to somewhere like Chester Zoo it is a bit disappointing.

I took my niece and my three months old baby along to they cross for a day out and I can honestly say that it was a great family day out, it may seem expensive at first but there's loads for your money, the chats with the keepers, watching them feed the animals, the dinosaur attraction and the play area is all fab, there's a lovely picnic area so you don't feel too obliged to buy food there, the shop is good too we bought 3 teddies and they came to £14 which I found reasonable...this zoo is well worth the money, oh and this year they cross has had quite a few baby animals (zoo babies) so make sure you pick up a map and keep an eye out for them!!
