This row of 30 Georgian town houses are widely recognised as the most majestic street in Britain. Designed by John Wood the Younger between 1767 and 1774, it is one of the finest pieces of 18th Century urban architecture. No 1 Royal Crescent was the first house to be built on the crescent and provided a luxury residence for aristocratic visitors, including the Duke of York. Today it has been recreated inside as an authentic example of Georgian interior design, with guides in every room to bring the house to life. With The Servant's Wing re-opening in June 2013, displaying how the building has been returned to its 18th Century design.
