The family will love this castle which is rich in history, it has been the home of the Berkeley family for more than 850 years. It was he last place of residence of King Edward II, who was imprisoned in the castle and murdered within its walls. The tour guide will explain all the fascinating history as you are led around watch the portraits eyes follow you. There is also a butterfly house which is full of tropical plants and over 42 different species of butterfly. You can observe their life cycle close quarters through the display of caterpillars and chrysalises.

Take the M5 and exit west at junction 16 on to the A38. Follow the A38 north to Berkeley and follow signs for the castle.
