This dramatic castle by the sea is a great place to bring the family for a day out. The location has been the main attraction for the occupants of this castle, it was renovated by Arts and Crafts architect Edwin Lutyens. The castle has rooms for you to explore, staircases to climb and fantastic views from the top. The Gertrude Jekyll Garden is a beautiful little garden by the castle and there are lime kilns that you can explore. The area is a great place for walk there is a family trail that you can follow and family events held throughout the year including rockpooling. The castle is on Holy island make sure that you check the conditions beforehand there is no cafe in the castle.
