The whole family will enjoy a visit to Alum Chine, chines are a steep dry river valley and this is the largest of four chines within Bournemouth. There is the fantastic Treasure Island themed children's play area (author Robert Louis Stevenson lived close by) that has a paddling pool, enclosed play park, see-saw, toddler swings, spinning bowl, large wooden pirate ship and slide. The gardens are beautiful and are lovely to explore, and they have stunning views over the beach. Right next to bournemouth beach where there are restaurants, shops and more just a short walk away you can easily spend a day here.
