About This AttractionSuggest an Edit

This museum is filled to the brim with history. Claymill's is home to 4 beam engines by Gimson of Leicester from 1885, a steam driven workshop, Thomson boilers from the 1930's and much more. The visitors centre displays artefacts relating to the museum and information of the sewage treatment process which can no longer be seen. Run by passionate volunteers, the kids will love seeing incredible pumps in action and learning about how everything here was used in Victorian England.

How To Get There

Directions

From the A38, take the north Burton (CLAY MILLS) exit and follow the A5121 towards Burton. When approaching from the south, take care - the exit slip has a sharp 180° bend. Meadow Lane is approximately ½ mile from the junction. Look for the brown signs at the A38 junction and again at Meadow Lane. From Burton town centre, follow signs for Derby (A38). After passing Lookers Garage, watch out for the brown sign at Meadow Lane.
