Forde Abbey is surrounded by 30 acres of land and was formerly a Cistercian monastery. Home to the highest powered fountain in England, the twelfth-century house of Forde Abbey contains stunning tapestries, lovely plaster ceilings, fine furniture and paintings. Be sure to visit the Children's Trail in the gardens and pick up a Children's Pack for in the house.

How To Get There

Directions

Take the A303 and exit on to the A358 to Chard. Then follow signs for the attraction on the smaller roads when getting closer to the abbey.
