About This AttractionSuggest an Edit

This gorgeous Elizabethan country house is a great place to bring the family for a day out. Learn all about the people who helped create such a beautiful building and the people who use to work and live in the house. The house is full of textiles, furniture, paintings, ceramics and other decorative objects. The children will love trying on a historic hat, having a go at drawing their own portrait just like the ones in the Long Gallery or taking part in one of the history trails. The gardens and grounds are great to explore with lots of hidden corners, nature trails and adventures to be had. Watch for creepy crawlies in the long grass, have fun trying to identify the birds on the lake and keep an eye out for Bess' oak- It's thought to be over 400 years old. Family events are organised throughout the year so make sure you check out their website.
