About This AttractionSuggest an Edit
The Red House Museum and Gardens offer a fascinating insight into the history of Christchurch. This former Georgian workhouse explores the story of Christchurch from before the Ice Age to modern times. See displays about Saxon princes and Iron Age dwellers from Hengistbury Head and glimpse at life in the 19th century in the Victorian bygone gallery. Families can enjoy fun free hands-on activities and there are plenty of places to escape to in the museum including the herb and south garden, which holds unexpected dinosaur suprises! There are regularly changing exhibitions so there's always something new to see. Family activities are available including interactive displays and also fun workshops for younger visitors. To top off a lovely day, treat yourself to a tea or coffee followed by a relaxing walk around the stunning gardens.
