This majestic castle is surrounded by woodland that just needs to be explored. Walk around the 12th century keep, that has been restored, and learn all about its fascinating history including its involvement in the War of the Roses and was once owned by Richard of York. The information centre has interactive displays to engage the children in the history and there are numerous excellent events held here throughout the year for families- so make sure that you check out their website.
