This dramatic medieval castle is really well preserved with plenty of nooks and crannies for the family to explore. In the centre is a 14th century tower house with 3m thick walls and a warren of rooms, downstairs there's the grim basement prison where a skeleton was found. Outdoors there's plenty of space for the kids to run around and play.

From the A720 (going East) take the A7 towards the City Centre, until you reach Craigmillar Castle Road on your Right turn down here and the castle is on your left.
