This quaint little coffee house and restaurant sits at the heart of Edinburgh, and has established itself as one of the best in the area. They have an impressive collection of over 600 elephant decorations and ornaments (hence the name), many of which are for sale, taking the idea of a coffee shop with a theme for a whole other level! The Elephant House is famously where author J.K Rowling had her first book published as she sat writing in the atmospheric back room overlooking Edinburgh Castle. Edinburgh served as inspiration for her Harry Potter books to come, making this the official birthplace of Harry Potter!
