About This AttractionSuggest an Edit

Powderham Castle is situated in a peaceful deer park along the Exe estuary. It was built between 1390 and 1420 by Sir Philip Courtenay and has long been the family home of the Earl of Devon. There is a beautiful rose garden and spring walks through the woodland garden. The rooms are spectacular and include the marble hall, music room, and the medieval great hall. It is said that the landing is haunted. Guided tours showcase the castle's intriguing history, majestic interiors and fine collection of treasures. Special events throughout the year.
