About This AttractionSuggest an Edit
Come explore this partially explored Renaissance palace that was once favoured by Stuart monarchs and a favourite place of Mary, Queen of Scots. The East Range of the palace was burnt by Cromwellian troops in the 17th century. The palace was restored at a later date by the 3rd Marquess of Bute. Inside there is displayed 17th century tapestries, elaborate painted ceilings and furniture. The place is surrounded by beautiful grounds that the family will enjoy exploring. The children will enjoy listening to the stories and everyday life of the palace and there are activity sheets and giant games to play in the garden. Family events are held throughout the year so make sure you check out the website for the latest.
