For an active day out for the family bring them here to one of the largest areas of ancient woodland in Northumberland. Explore the extensive 41 hectare gorge which is a site of Special Scientific Interest and has many walks that the family can complete. Keep an eye out for the medieval pele tower and the reconstructed Victorian summer house.
