This wonderful museum is located in a 17th century cottage in historic Hinckley, the home of the hosiery trade. The whole family will learn about the history of the Hinckley area from pre-historic to medieval times. You will also get to see sock knitting on a Griswold machine, discover more about the hosiery and footwear industries in the area and you can see the framework knitter`s cottage room setting with the circa 1740 knitting frame. To help engage the children with the history the museum provide free children`s quiz sheets.
