About This AttractionSuggest an Edit
This quintessential Victorian ‘Highland’ estate is Britain’s only island country park and is a great place to bring the family for a day out. The castle is stuffed full of impressive collections of period furniture, silverware, porcelain, paintings and sporting trophies. The expansive grounds are great for exploring with woodland trails, wildlife ponds and waterfalls. Children are really well catered for here and there are special guided tours for youngsters and quiz sheets inside the castle. Outdoors they will enjoy the junior garden trail they can follow by themselves and if they really like wildlife the can join a ranger-led tour or join the Young Naturalists Club. If they need to let off some steam there is an adventure playground that's suitable for all ages. They hold family events throughout the year so make sure that you check out the website for the latest.
