The house is great to explore with a lovely homely feel to it and its still live in by the Strickland family, there are many stories to learn about the house and you can see the centuries old portraits around the house. The huge estate (1,600 acres) has beautiful pasture, orchards and semi-natural woodland. The stunning garden has a pond, lake, a national collection of hardy ferns and a superb limestone rock garden.
