About This AttractionSuggest an Edit

An old country manor house with stunning grounds, the picturesque surroundings loo like something like a Constable painting. The expansive grounds stretch from Dodd Wood to Bassenthwaite Lake, the children will enjoy finding the four woodland playgrounds, a heather maze, a rhododendron tunnel and there is even a poetry walk. On a rainy day go explore the indoors where there are unique curios, the Old Sawnmill Tearoom has delicious Cumbrian cooking including cumberland sausage, homemade cakes and puddings and Farrers coffees.

Tips

We visited the gardens only as the weather was too good to be inside. There are fantastic little play areas with hidden swings etc that the children loved. Adults will love the views and landscaping.
