This massive estate covers and incredible 2,550 hectares and is an old crofting estate with a diverse mix of Scotland’s most beautiful landscapes. There's croft and farm land, woodland, moorland, villages, coastline, saltmarsh, lochs and offshore islands. You can explore the area via a number of family friendly walks through the woods, along the coastline and around the loch. Plus there are places that you can go kayaking, try mountain biking, orienteering and lots more. The estate is also a great place to go wildlife spotting you might see seals, otters, seabirds and perhaps even whales and dolphins.

Somewhere To Eat?

NTS does not operate a cafe but there is a privately managed cafe in the Steadings at Balmacara Square.

There are 100 parking spaces at Balmacara Square, there's limited disabled parking outside the visitor centre.
