About This AttractionSuggest an Edit

If you want a great day roaming the outdoors why not consider visiting this vast country estate. The whole family will enjoy rambling over the remains of castle Dinefwr and exploring the inside of Newton House. There is plenty for all of the family to do, the grounds are a wildlife haven and there are purpose built hides where you can sit and watch it all. There is a children's woodland play area where they can let off some steam and the adults can relax (or join in). On Wednesdays they run a tractor and trailer ride to the cattle field so you can get a close look at the ancient White Park Cattle. There is a tea room in the house to feed the brood with a large selection of tasty treats for the whole family. Check out the website for the latest events that they have organised throughout the year.

Tips

Another amazing place from the National Trust. Newton House is spread over 3 floors with lots of activities for the younger one to do. Also you can dress up in period clothes. The house is very hands on so there's plenty to get involved with. Lots of information to read and look at.
The castle is a good 20 minute walk from the car park via only what can be described as a very steep climb. There are plenty of resting spots but please ensure you have good footwear as its spread over stones, grass and woodland. Well worth the climb as the castle ruins are amazing with a nice walk around the top and great views of the countryside. The return walk is greeted by a lovely little tea room just 500yrds from the car park which is a great relief after the climb.
Certainly worth a visit.

Another great property for the National Trust. Newton House is spread over 3 floors and is very hands on for the children. Plenty of things to dress up in and play with. Lots of information to read.
The Castle is a good 20 minute walk from the car park, however you need good legs. Access to the castle is via a very steep climb over different terrain. There are plenty of places to rest but not so good for old people or any one with a buggie or disability. However there is a well situated Tea Room at the bottom of the walk providing a well earned resting spot.
