About This AttractionSuggest an Edit

After being closed for three years for a gigantic revamp, the formally known ‘Museum of Childhood’ reopened in July 2023 as the shiny new Young V&A. This free museum features three new permanent galleries - Play, Imagine and Design. Children, young people and families can be inspired by spaces, explore the enormous collection and get creative in this space described as a “doing-museum” rather than a “hands off” one! With hands-on experiences audiences can look forward to, including sensory playscapes, a finger skateboard park, an ‘Imagination Playground’ construction zone, a performance and story-telling stage, and an open design studio for children and young people, everything is designed to showcase the power of creativity in children’s lives as they build new skills and develop creative confidence.
