For an exciting day out take the kids of the Peak Rail, a beautifully preserved railway. the train operates between Rowsley South and Matlock Platform 2 for a distance of 4 miles. Rowsley South Station has a large buffet providing a selection of hot and cold light refreshments, homemade cakes and also a gift shop selling a range of Thomas models, railway books, dvd's, memorabilia and souvenirs. There is also an exhibition showcasing the history of the railway. The train stops at Darley Dale which has a museum which depicts the history of the former Midland Railway line All trains have a buffet car, serving a range of hot and colds drinks, alcoholic beverages and a wide range of light snacks
