If your kids are loco about all things train then bring them to this railway. Take a trip from Pant and travel in one of the all weather observation carriages behind a majestic steam locomotive, into the Brecon Beacons National Park to see the stunning views of the peaks and reservoir. You can get off the train in Pontsticill where there is the charming lakeside cafe or you can ramble around the beautiful area and the kids will love the play area and a visit to the small steam museum. The station at Pant also has a restaurant and gift shop but also the workshop where you can see the locomotives being worked on.

Directions
Located just off the Heads of the Valleys trunk road - about 3 miles north of Merthyr Tydfil. Follow the Mountain Railway signs from the A470 and A465.

I took my son to see Santa on Nov 30th. We had a really enjoyable trip. He loved the steam train. The journey on the train was 10mins long which was fab! Any longer and he would have gotten bored. Plenty of stunning scenery to look at.
