About This AttractionSuggest an Edit

If you and your family are interested in the history of the development of planes and the RAF. The first military airfield was established here by the Royal Flying Corps in 1913. The stories of those who worked here are told through interactive displays and the huge collection of artefacts, pictures and memorabilia. See photographs of planes from when they originally resembled giant kites to luftwaffe which bombed the local area. There is a great 1940's room that shows the training the pilots went through with interactive computer copies of the training manual. Events are held here throughout the year so check out the website for the latest.
