About This AttractionSuggest an Edit

Finch Foundry is a 19th century water-powered forge. It was originally used to produce agricultural and mining hand tools, but the Foundry has been a National Trust property since 1994. Although no longer in production, three waterwheels can still be seen driving huge hammers, shears, grindstone and other machinery, with daily working demonstrations. These demonstrations explain the key role the foundry played in the local community. There is a children's quiz/trail for the little ones to enjoy, plus an opportunity to dress up like a Victorian, while parents can enjoy a relaxing stroll around the breathtaking gardens.
