If your family are loco about trains then bring them on these scenic narrow gauge railways. No matter the weather enjoy the scenery in on of their comfortable railway carriages. The Ffestiniog Railway takes you on a 13 1/2 mile journey from the harbour in Porthmadog to the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The train climbs over 700ft from the sea to the mountains, through the stunning scenery, clinging to mountains or tunnelling through them. The Welsh Highland Railway takes you on a 25 mile scenic journey from beneath the castle walls at Caernarfon and then climbs 650ft over the foothills of Snowdin to the hillside town of Beddgelert.
