Built between 1776-1783, Basildon Park is a Georgian mansion surrounded by parkland. In the 1950's it was restored to its former glory by Lord and Lady Liffe. The house today is the re-creation of the 18th-century mansion. The Octagon drawing room has many fine pictures and furniture and there is a small formal garden. The house featured in the 2005 film adaptation of 'Pride and Prejudice' as well as being used for the 2013 season of Downton Abbey.
