About This AttractionSuggest an Edit

Upnor Castle is a sixteenth century gun fort built for the protection of Elizabeth I's warships. Still in great condition, there is a marvellous sound and light show with a model of the castle and river during the Dutch attack. Audio tours are available.

Tips

It is quite small so not a full day out but it's a lovely little local spot. It's a small castle with lots of rooms to explore and information to read. There are some grounds, an area for picnics. It's nice for smaller children to run around.
