About This AttractionSuggest an Edit
Sherborne Castle opened its doors to the general public in 1969, and has been welcoming visitors from all over the world since. The Castle was built by Sir Walter Raliegh in 1594, and was acquired by Sir John Digby in 1617. It remains the home of the Wingfield Digby family to this day. Enjoy the fantastic collection of furniture, porcelain and even Raleigh's original kitchen. The stunning gardens of the Castle offer a breathtaking 42 acres of beauty, peace and tranquillity. There is plenty of wildlife to enjoy watching, which is great for children and you can even feed the ducks in the lake, whilst enjoying a relaxing picnic.
