Inside there is a fascinating collection of objects and artwork from Shetland including Shetland lace and the very first telephone to be installed in the Islands in 1883.The family can watch boats being restored by hand in the boat shed and the restored boats hanging from the ceiling. The museum itself has a wealth of information about the local area including books, magazines, Ordnance Survey maps, court records and newspapers if you want to look up the history of the local area further.
