Discover Sunderland's fascinating history ranging from prehistoric times to the present. The museum contains the only British example of a gliding reptile, the oldest known vertebrate capable of gliding flight. During your visit, you will see collections relating to natural history, archaeology, geology, glass and pottery. In the Winter Gardens you will find a stunning botanical collection, with over 2000 plants and trees within a 30 metre dome.
