About This AttractionSuggest an Edit

Set in the heart of the Dorset countryside is a lovely rescue centre called Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre - this is home to over 250 rescued and/or endangered primates of about 20 different species. Monkey World was originally set up by Jim Cronin in 1987 as a permanent and stable home for abused Spanish beach Chimpanzees. The organisation has since grown and become what it is today - continuing to work with foreign governements worldwide to stop illegal smuggling, abuse or general neglect of these beautiful creatures.

Monkey World is the perfect place to take the whole family for a day out, and for a good cause too! See the cheeky chimps and cute marmosets and don't miss visiting the lemurs or orangutans! There is also an amazing play area the kids will love and they hold brilliant birthday parties here too!

Tips

A fabulous informative day out for all the family.

We had an absolutely amazinggggg time at monkey world (June 2013) and can't recommend it highly enough! The guided tour was brilliant- deffo think everyone should do one as you learn and appreciate it so much more! Plus the monkeys know the guides and come closer :D toy shop was addictive.. Park was epic and kids loved it! Grandma found the electric mobility scooter fun and I had such a relaxed day as everyone else was in their element too :D xx
