Tips

Four stars only because it's a small zoo but well on its way to five stars.

Also it's worth mentioning that describing it as small is possibly unfair, new would be a better description, it has a brand new reptile house, a large and cool children's play park with picnic area, walk though enclosure, Lemur feeding option, a large bear enclosure, wolves, large birds, moose, meerkats etc etc

And it's worth remembering that most of these animals are rescue animals who have now clearly found a lovely new home.

Monkeys are on their way as are lions, so it's clearly expanding making future visits a must.

It would be great though as many attractions in West Lothian such as Almond Valley Heritage farm if the eateries were of a much higher standard, West Lothian appear to be many years behind what is expected of food options in places such as Manchester and Edinburgh and Glasgow.

I honestly think it has more potential than Edinburgh Zoo which is always like climbing a mountain and the enclosures are generally very small (not including their new enclosures). Not mentioning the cost.

Great day out !

Friendly little zoo

Fantastic day out! Not too big, so great for little legs, but lots of different animals to see and pet. The enclosures are well designed so even little kids can see the animals without having to be lifted up. Loads of seating areas for lunchtime and food was very reasonably priced compared to similar attractions. The kids play park is exceptional. The highlight for us though was Luna and Aria, the Arctic Wolves. We'll definitely be back!
