Completed in 1310 and the last Welsh castle from the reign of Edward I that's still lived in today. The children will enjoy exploring the many rooms including the medieval tower and dungeon, servants hall and state rooms. The gardens have plenty of room for the children to run around and their are many beautiful plants to look at. Ask about giant-sized family games in the garden. The parkland provides a habitat for rare invertebrates, wild flowers and contains many mature trees . There is a packed calendar of events from Dragon Quests to Medieval Weekends that the family will enjoy.

How To Get There

Directions

Chirk Castle is 7 miles south of Wrexham, 8 miles north of Oswestry and 5 miles from Llangollen. It is clearly signposted from the A5 and A483. From the A5 proceed 1 mile to Chirk village, the entrance to the estate is 2 miles west of Chirk village and is clearly signposted. Please note: When you arrive by car at the white iron Davies gates please continue to your right. The entrance to the estate is 1.4 miles further on.
