About This AttractionSuggest an Edit
Bring the family to this historic tower set on top of a tall mound in the heart of Old York to enjoy the stunning views over York. It is almost all that is left of the old York Castle which was originally built by William Conqueror. The castle has a fascinating history being in the past a prison, a royal mint and even once where Henry VIII had the bodies of his enemies put on public display. Nowadays you can see a model of what the castle would have looked like and can enjoy podcasts showing views of historic York featuring Julian Humphrys.
